Overview

SQN Capital Management (SQN) is an international finance company and a multinational alternative investment manager specializing in collateralised, non-correlated, income-producing investments.

SQN manages seven funds catering to a broad array of investors including institutions and pension plans, banks, funds of funds, wealth managers, and retail investors in the United States. SQN manages the world’s only publicly-traded diversified asset finance and equipment leasing fund which is traded on Premium Segment of the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and has taken over the management of the SME Loan Fund which has been renamed the SQN Secured Income Fund and trades on the Specialist Segment of the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. SQN also manages separate accounts for mid-sized insurance companies throughout the United States. SQN manages or advises on funds domiciled in the United States, Great Britain, the Channel Islands and the Cayman Islands.

As a finance company and investor, SQN provides financing for business-essential assets and equipment across a diverse spread of industries. Projects of interest to SQN range from 6 months to 20 years in term and in amounts ranging from $500,000 to $50,000,000.

With offices in New York and London, SQN focuses on the U.S. and U.K. markets and has provided financing on 6 continents.

2017

SQN and SQN Asset Management joint appointed investment managers to SQN Secured Income Fund plc, formerly The SME Loan Fund PLC, whose object is achieving attractive risk adjusted returns through investment, predominantly in a range of secured loans and other secured loan-based instruments.
SQN appointed as adviser to QInvest SQN Income Fund, a new sharia law compliant sovereign wealth fund.
2016

SQN AFIF raised a further £180 million to the reach £540 million of issued capital.
2015

Acquisition of and merger with Summit Asset Management Limited, Renamed SQN Capital Management (UK) Ltd (SQN UK), a specialist leasing company formed in 1991 and the former joint venture partner of SQN. This offered SQN the platform and infrastructure to further expand internationally.
SQN AFIF raised a further £210 million through a placement and secondary offer.
SQN Venture Partners, LLC (SQNVP), an affiliate of SQN, was formed to provide investment advisory and management to programs; primarily investigating in leases and debt securities of venture backed energy technologies and privately held companies.

2014 - 2011

SQN Asset Finance Income Fund Limited (SQN AFIF) successful admission to the premium listing segment of the Official List rising £150 million. Trading on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange commenced in July 2014, with SQN LLC and SQN UK as joint managers.
2013

Second public asset and equipment finance fund launched with an initial $200 million target raise, representing SQN’s fifth alternative investment fund.
2011

First public fund concluded rising c.$28 million.

2010

Formed SQN Securities, a FINRA registered broker dealer. First non-equipment based Fund launched.
2009

Further private fund launched.
2008

First private fund launched.
2007

Formation of SQN Capital Management, LLC, New York (SQN LLC).
